Delivering human dietary intervention studies to companies globally
Atlantia Food Clinical Trials has considerable experience in providing human clinical intervention studies to investigate the uptake of specific nutritional components, such as uptake of different forms of dietary protein or iron. We have carried out trials looking at different forms of protein, such as whey, casein, caeseinate, and micellar forms of protein for different applications, such as sports nutrition, sarcopenia in the elderly, and post-prandial acute studies. We also have experience in investigating the acute uptake/bioavailability of different formulations of iron.
We work with our clients to design a study most suitable for their products in accordance with EFSA guidelines, analysing peer reviewed publications, agreeing the most suitable end-points and statistically powering studies to ensure that studies will meet requirements. We have an extensive database of suitable volunteers, such as healthy, athletes, and elderly, as well as groups with mild illnesses in order to support volunteer recruitment for any trial type. The types of measurements available include;
